NIGHT-GAUNTS IS NOW FREE TO WATCH

AUG 20, 2026

Three years ago I made a Lovecraft horror film in a shed. Today, on H.P. Lovecraft’s birthday, I’m setting it free.

Night-Gaunts is a handmade puppet horror short adapted from Lovecraft’s poem. I built and shot it alone in a 10×15-foot shed over two weeks in July 2023, with no budget, an old smartphone camera, and whatever was already on my shelves: recycled craft materials, parts of old sets, pieces of retired puppets. Music and narration came from a couple of very talented friends Jean Baudin and Jake Glazier, and they’re what made it feel legitimate.

It premiered at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Providence, Rhode Island on Lovecraft’s birthday weekend, then went on to Screamfest in Los Angeles, Another Hole in the Head in San Francisco, Bleedingham, the Lovecraft festivals in Portland and Mobile, and FOGFEST on the far edge of Newfoundland for its international premiere.

As you watch, I hope you can imagine me lost in that hot, dark shed, burning my fingers with hot glue, because it all proved this to me clearly: you do not need permission, money, or the right equipment to make something real. You need two weeks (or less!) and a decision.
